Parent Testimonials
I've witnessed first hand the transformative impact of Alberta Selects International Football on my son, Keene Shigehiro, from Grade 8 to now in Grade 11, Keene's growth as a player and individual has been remarkable. As a running back, Keene's achievements on the field are impressive - 25 touchdowns in Grade 11 alone is a testament to his hard work and dedication. But what truly sets Alberta Selects apart is the emphasis on developing character alongside athletic skill.Through the program, Keene has learned invaluable life skills such as resiliency, grit, and a genuine passion for the game. The coaches and staff have fostered a supportive environment that pushes players to reach their full potential. We're grateful for the opportunities and experiences Alberta Selects has provided Keene. I highly recommend this program to any family looking to help their child grow both on and off the field.

My son, James Comstock, has been enrolled in the Alberta International Selects program now for the past 2 years and is continuing again for his third year starting December 2024. The program has helped him develop as a skill player (QB/WR/DB) and athlete not to mention helping his football IQ and confidence. Through the Selects, he has had exposure to some amazing coaches both employed by Selects and brought in as guest coaches. He has also had the opportunity to travel and play against teams in other provinces and the USA as well as various camps and showcases opening up opportunities for him after high school. We are thankful for the A.I.S. program and all the opportunities they have provided James and the lifelong friends he has made along the way.

We were first introduced to the Alberta International Selects in our son Ira Hozack’s grade 9 year 3 years ago. It couldn't have come at a better time, and even though we lived in Medicine Hat and the practices were in Red Deer, even after the first weekend of training we knew we had made the right choice! They teach individual positions and bring in CFL and NCAA alumni to help the boys. And as we go, fast forward through practices and training, long term athlete development, discussions with the boys on future options to get them thinking about being the student first and athlete second, we just loved the emphasis on progressing towards something. We had tournaments in Moose Jaw and San Antonio, and met kids and families from around the province and the country that we have become very close with. Coaches Jermaine and Travis have put so much into the players, it's just been amazing. They come out to events nearby if your team is playing just to watch and see how you do and say hello and remain connected. They check in with you and see how your family and the boys are doing. They teach the boys about keeping good grades, and what coaches at the next level want to see, whether that's a route to CJFL, USports, or perhaps even NCAA in the USA. The US Bus tours have proven to be instrumental in our son's progress, from winning an MVP at his first college showcase, to potential offers from NCAA schools, Travis and Jermaine strive to get the best for the boys, and help them on and off the field. They have connections to colleges and coaches and help the boys with messaging and how to present themselves. Last year they developed player profiles for the boys before going on the US tour and coaches noted how valuable these are, almost like a resume as if applying for a job. We have been so thankful for our association with the Alberta International Selects, for coaches Travis and Jermaine and all they have done for Ira, for his future, and in his development. We are also so grateful for the connections we have made in the Selects, and so happy with getting to meet many amazing families and see their boys going on to Usports, CJFL and NCAA. It's been amazing and highly recommend AIS for anyone thinking about long term player development for their child in Football!
